The Réseau de Transport de la Capitale (RTC) provides public transit in the Greater Quebec City. It meets the need of 64,600 passengers a day who make about 44.3 million crossings per year. The RTC vehicle fleet consists of regular buses, articulated vehicles and some electric minibuses. Moreover, within these groups, a part of the BTI fleet is colored in function of the running line. RTC serves a network of 857 km with approximately 43 km of reserved lanes.

CSched services provided to the RTC critical evaluation of manual and software methods used when planning the service.

The proposed study has identified new approaches and/or working methods allowing the RTC to increase the efficiency, quality and productivity while respecting the constraints of the collective agreement and give full consideration to the RTC service policies.

Finally, CSched provided a report rating the efficiency and productivity of the planned service. This report sets out the performance measures used as their meanings and their impacts, and in order to accurately assess the solutions produced by the staff of the RTC and HASTUS software. The result is a series of recommendations to improve service planning as well as the use HASTUS to surpass the current performance with regard to punctuality and efficiency while providing a wealth of new knowledge RTC staff.
