Michel Courval
- CEO
With degrees in Operations Research and Computer Science, Michel has dedicated his career to public transit. A passionate advocate for scheduling, he founded CSched in 2008 with a dedicated team of schedulers. He has transformed CSched into a beacon of innovation, assisting agencies worldwide in optimizing their operations.
In the last 17 years, Michel led several scheduling efficiency audits, helping transit agencies to save collectively over a hundred million dollars annually without cutting any service. In partnership with various unions and agencies, he also facilitated win-win solutions in Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) negotiations.
Michel is a fervent proponent of sharing the intricacies of the scheduling craft and the importance of taking data-driven decisions. As a change agent, Michel tirelessly advocates for the implementation of scheduling best practices.
Sophie Frigon

A graduate of the University of Montreal with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Sophie began her career at GIRO Inc., where she quickly distinguished herself through exceptional analytical skills. At GIRO, she specialized in the customization and deployment of HASTUS Daily Operations modules, tackling the company’s most complex implementation projects and integrating HASTUS seamlessly with numerous downstream systems.
Today, as Vice-President and Chief Operations Officer at CSched, Sophie leads the execution of high-stakes projects and oversees day-to-day operations. Passionate about customer success, she ensures that every initiative reflects CSched’s core values of Excellence, Shared Purpose, Passion, Transparency, and Integrity.
Sophie is CSched’s leading expert on integrating HASTUS by CSched with upstream and downstream technologies, leveraging her extensive experience with HASTUS Connect modules and GIRO’s proprietary scripting languages (OIR and OIG).
Having collaborated with dozens of transit operations managers and dispatchers across North America and Europe, Sophie brings unmatched expertise to optimizing service delivery processes—from daily dispatching and extra-board management to sophisticated payroll integrations.
